What is Rioja?

Rioja is a region located in northern Spain.

The climate is hot continental (short and rainy summer, high continentality, average temperature between 16.5°C and 18°C during the vine growing season).

The region is divided into three zones: Rioja Alta (northwest), Rioja Alavesa (the smallest region, north) and Rioja Oriental (formerly Rioja Baja, southeast).

40 % of the production is exported, and this trend is on the rise.
